The Kochi Biennale Foundation was set up in 2010 by artists Bose Krishnamachari and Riyas Komu and today hosts the largest art exhibition and festival of its kind in South Asia. The Kochi-Muziris Biennale (KMB) has become the go-to art event for mavens and laypeople the world over. Spread across Fort Kochi and spilling into the main city, the Biennale is no ordinary art show, rather it is an art movement, one deeply rooted in Kerala but spreading its influence across the globe. The fourth and most recent edition curated by Anita Dube, which included close to 100 artists, proved how the best of art engages with and questions the politics and inequalities of our times.
