Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma have called it off. They had a widely reported showdown during the IIFA Awards weekend in Toronto recently, and fingers were pointed at Ranveer’s ‘closeness’ to Sonakshi Sinha, with whom he performed at the show.
Word is coming in now that Ranveer also reportedly got cosy with Neha Dhupia in Toronto, which sent Anushka off the handle. It appears that the Band Baaja Baaraat hero relentlessly pursued the former Miss India, and convinced her that he was single so she might consider hooking up with him.
Few films have been so widely reported on even before they’ve been cast. Wake Up Sid director Ayan Mukherji’s next is the hottest ticket in Bollywood, and not without reason. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, it will be produced by Karan Johar, and Mukherji himself is regarded as one of the more promising filmmakers of the industry’s new crop. No wonder every single heroine is rumoured to be keeping her fingers crossed, waiting for that elusive phone call confirming that she’s been cast in it.
The shortlist for the female lead, which initially included Sonam Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Sharma, has now surprisingly been whittled down to two of Ranbir’s former girlfriends: Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif. Despite various rumours flying around that one or the other actress has already been cast, the truth is that the filmmaker is still to take a final call.
Meanwhile, Yash Raj Films has denied tabloid reports that Katrina dropped out of Dhoom 3, and chose Johar’s Ranbir-starrer instead. The studio says Katrina is already working with them on Kabir Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger and Yash Chopra’s next opposite Shah Rukh Khan, which leaves her with no dates to even consider a third film this year. Deepika, for her part, has already begun shooting Homi Adajania’s Cocktail opposite Saif Ali Khan, and is expected to return to the sets of Rana once Rajinikant’s currently faltering health permits him to resume shooting.
Despite such choc-a-bloc schedules, both actresses are believed to have assured Mukherji that they will work around their dates to squeeze in his film if he’ll have them. The filmmaker, meanwhile, is expected to make an official casting announcement early next week. My guess is that it’s going to be Katrina. We’ll see.
You’ve heard of alcohol addiction and drug addiction, but this leading Bollywood film producer’s wife is allegedly addicted to surgery. According to her indiscreet industry friends, the lady in question first went under the knife two years ago to get a tummy tuck. For this, she relied on a cosmetology clinic run by the parents of an A-list actress, who at the time was starring in a big-budget romantic film that her husband was producing. More than satisfied with the result, she is believed to have sought out a well-known Indian plastic surgeon in London who she reportedly enlisted to get her lips done, then her nose fixed and, most recently, her breasts enhanced.
The surgeon in question is apparently a favourite among Bollywood heroines and Mumbai socialites, who make appointments with him each time they’re headed for a London holiday. He also makes an annual visit to Mumbai himself, and the popular joke in the film industry is that young starlets invariably tend to run into each other in his waiting room.
The producer’s wife, who’s just returned from London where her husband completed a long schedule of his multi-starrer film, reportedly resembles one of those Playboy Playmates these days with all the silicon and collagen that’s been pumped into her!
