Though 12 megapixels and 7x zoom may not interest everyone, it is still one of the slimmest cameras.
My problem with the Olympus brand is that they put an xD card in the camera, and it is not as easy to buy as an SD Card. But then this is only one small problem that can be solved easily. While shopping I came across and fell in love with the newly launched Olympus µ 7010 camera. It was not only its incredibly slim design (1-inch deep) and the great optics (7x optical zoom, 12 megapixels) that gave me this feeling, but the overall feel of holding this camera in the hand and shooting pictures with it was a sheer pleasure. This ultra-slim camera also boasts of dual IS, AF tracking and a mode called i-Auto, that allows you to take the guesswork out of the perfect memorable pictures. The HyperCrystal II LCD is very clear in bright outdoors and makes using this camera a breeze.
The µ has 39 languages for its interface, though most of us will choose English. The camera overall is a killer and at this price becomes a very interesting option. If that was not enough, the camera has Advanced Face Detection that can detect up to 16 persons for perfect focus, a TruePic III image processor that makes it pretty fast (but not as much as I would like) for the demo.
