Indian designers haven’t yet put out headgear that is anywhere near as outlandish as their counterparts do in the West, but they have thrown their hats into the ring, so to speak.
Would Indians ever wear hats? Apart from those looking to hide bald spots, that is. Abhay Deol answered it in the affirmative when he walked for Ritu Beri in a bowler hat at the recent WIFW (Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week). He could have walked out of René Magritte’s The Son of Man. Even as men try out the fedoras and bowlers, ladies, you’d be better advised to get a feather, just about anything that covers more than half your head.
