A Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) lab is working on clothes for women who are subjected to violence. They come fitted with sensors that can record attacks as well. While they will not help in protection against an attack, they may serve as importance evidence in court.
This is part of MIT’s End Violence against Women project, a brainchild of Indonesian doctoral student Yoda Patta. Helping her are apparel designer Yolita Nugent and graduate student Adam Whiton, who’ve also worked on a No Contact jacket, which when activated sends out 80,000 volts of low amp electricity (check no-contact.com for details).
