A survey of 2,000 Britons, conducted to commemorate the release of the romantic comedy Life As We Know It, yielded astonishing results. The survey, of people between the ages of 18 and 25, found that 20 per cent of respondents believed the umbilical cord was a musical note! Twenty one per cent thought that pregnancy lasted 12 months, and 10 per cent thought the placenta, which nourishes the unborn baby, was a vegetable. Unfortunately, it doesn’t end there. Twelve per cent even thought that a Caesarian section was a religious cult. These young respondents are going to have to learn their facts fast, since more than half said that 28 was the best age to start a family.
