A rapidly globalising world has been directing shifts and transformations in the human habitat, thus driving the design and construction industry to its peak. This has further induced a great demand for creative and transdisciplinary approaches in design thinking. Architecture pedagogy, today, ensures the training of young minds in delivering spatial interpretations engaging the ever-changing demands of society, through a conscious negotiation between context (space, place and time), people (users and activities) and technology (creativity driven by innovation).

An institution with more than thirty years of establishment, RV College of Architecture, believes in creating excellence through explorations in pedagogical techniques, associations with allied disciplines (art, crafts, material science, for example) and technological infusions (computational design). The state or the art studios are the life of the campus that invoke interesting discussions between the highly specialised faculty and students, to foster critical thinking through experimentations that emphasise the process of discovery, inquiry and reflection.

RV College of Architecture (RVCA) offers a 5-year undergraduate program in B.Architecture and a specialised 2-year postgraduate program in Urban Design (M.Arch). RVCA is also a recognised Research Centre for the Doctoral Program (Ph.D.) under the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) advocating the availability of a specialised library, skill labs, GIS lab, etc. The academic zones are interspersed with well-lit courts, a kund (a stepped court) and passageways that bring in informal engagements and celebrations to enrich the student’s life within the campus. Under the able vision of Rastreeya Shikshana Samithi Trust (RSST), RVCA continues to achieve altruism in design education through academic involvement. self-criticism and self-evaluation, with a determined objective of shaping the attitude and work ethics of young minds. The institution, with the provision of the best infrastructure, and competent academic structure strengthened by an interdisciplinary faculty team and an enriched course intent, continues to work towards fostering innovation in young minds and preparing them better for the Industry.
