The people of Mexico City will remember this Christmas for some time to come.
The people of Mexico City will remember this Christmas for some time to come. It took 200 people and an entire month to create the visual extravaganza that stands tall in the centre of their city. Covered in 1.2 million light bulbs, 80 km of cable and rising 110.35 metres into the sky, Mexico City has broken a new Guinness record for erecting the world’s biggest Christmas tree.
The new record exceeds by 24 centimetre the Christmas tree that was set up in Aracaju, Brazil, the city that had held the Guinness record since 2007 with a 110.11 metre high tree.
A million people are expected see the electric wonder through the month of December.
