Remember how you bought text books at the beginning of each academic year and then gave those to the scrap dealer when your exams got over? Well, India’s first online textbook rental service plans to change that. Textbuk.in, which was launched recently, caters to students of engineering—BSc and diploma—and classes XI and XII. It plans to include streams like medicine and law soon. Textbooks can be rented for an entire semester, and returned at the end of the term. Students will not only save money but also help recycle books. Sameer Tulpule, co-founder and COO of Textbuk.in, says, “We have been students ourselves and understand that every rupee counts, especially when you are a student. We also know that the generation of today is looking to add as much value as it can to make the world go green.”
