Anil Shivakumar, 14, cartwheeled non-stop for a distance of 8 km on Bangalore roads on Sunday to earn a place in the Limca Book of Records. The son of a daily-wage labourer, he broke the existing 1 hour and 10 minute record achieved over 5 km with his 1 hour, 15 minutes and 3 second effort. The ninth grade student, who has acted in bit roles in 25 Kannada films, hopes to be a star one day and is currently training in martial arts and contemporary dance. Asked what drives him, he answers, “Creating new records.”
