According to a Kansas State Research study, deli meats and pepperoni are free from carcinogenic compounds such as heterocyclic amines (HCA) and are, thus, healthier. Past studies have proven that regular consumption of HCAs in meat products results in cancers of the stomach and colon. Moreover, these deli meats don’t require additional cooking unlike, say, rotisserie chicken, which needs to be cooked at high temperatures.
