Dr Shriram Nene’s survey of the filth at Juhu Beach
A sharp American twang rang out in the air at Juhu Beach one recent morning. “Last year it wasn’t so bad,” said a man to a companion as he surveyed the filthy condition of the beach, which not very long ago was well-maintained. The voice belonged to Dr Shriram Nene, Madhuri Dixit’s husband. Dr Nene is a regular at the beach, often accompanied by his sons or his dog. Ek, do, teen… Everyone’s counting the days till the beach becomes spick and span again.
