Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence (Shiv Nadar IoE) was established in 2011 by Shiv Nadar, one of Asia’s foremost philanthropists and a pioneer of the technological revolution in India. In over a decade, the University have been recognized as an Institution of Eminence by the Government of India, a distinct category of higher education institution that strives to become a top hundred Institution in the world over time. Shiv Nadar IoE is also the youngest university to be given this recognition.

Today, the university has 3,650 alumni across the world with graduates in the Top 100 universities of the world in post-graduate, doctoral, and post-doctoral studies and are working in top global companies, in administrative services, and in many other coveted roles. Research is the backbone of the institution. The university aspires to produce research that changes the world and fosters excitement about powerful and enduring inquiry. Accordingly, research is integrally built into the university’s curriculum. The university also has a research infrastructure that is rare in the Global South, and more is being added every day to expand an exceptional research environment further. The university also encourages student-led research initiatives, providing opportunities to contribute to advancing knowledge and making a meaningful impact.

The opportunities for Undergraduate Research (OUR) program enables undergraduate students to undertake funded research projects with faculty members in any discipline. Many undergraduate students have published their research work through this initiative.Lifelong learning is also one of the university’s priorities. This has been spurred by intrinsically including analytical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, leadership, and critical thinking in the curriculum and pedagogy. The university’s commitment to excellence is reflected in the admission process, where students are selected based on their academic achievements, aptitude, and potential to excel. Once admitted, they are exposed to a stimulating learning environment that challenges them to push their boundaries and achieve their fullest potential.
