Nothing makes you happier than watching your dream come true in front of your very eyes. That is a perfect summary of Dr. P. Shyama Raju’s journey from a small town to the Chancellor of one of the top universities in the country. Coming from a humble beginning, Dr. Shyama Raju is a dynamic person who believes in contributing to society. He continued to study and grow every day, and in doing so, he lived up to it by gradually acquiring the wisdom and maturity of a leader. Apart from being the Chairman and Managing Director of Bengaluru-based Divyasree Developers Pvt Ltd, he is also the Chairman of Rukmini Educational Charitable Trust and the Chancellor of REVA University. He is also the Chairman of the India ASEAN Trade Council 2022.

After a decade of existence of the University, under the leadership of Dr. Shyama Raju, REVA University has in alignment with the NEP 2020 built the road map for leading the University to become a Social Impact University. Hence, in alignment with United Nations SDGs, REVA University has organized various events and programmes by its various schools namely Abhivyakti which enhances non-verbal communication in K-12 teachers through REVA; Panchavaktram which revives the Indian Knowledge System through dance and heritage studies; Samaavesha which embraces gender equality as a way of life in alignment with SDGs; Nyaya Darshana that encourages women in politics and provides awareness of Justice; and Pragna a mission towards civic responsibility and road safety, to name a few.

Dr. Shyama Raju’s thoughts are that by improving the life of just one student, the family and the community as a whole will improve. Dr. Shyama Raju is a self-driven and self-motivated person who is dedicated to transforming students into socially friendly individuals by utilising education as a tool. As John F Kennedy rightly said, it is important to advance knowledge and disseminate the truth as responsible and committed individuals of society. Dr. Shyama Raju believes in doing that through REVA University and has achieved this distinct status as a leader.
