IIRM is a joint initiative of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and the Government of Telangana to strengthen education and provide skilled human resources to the Financial Services Sector. IIRM, is an effort in the direction of the establishment of an Institute of Global Standards, catering to all aspects of Financial Services. It has been conceived as a Centre of Excellence for Advanced Research and Training in the areas of Financial Services, Insurance, Risk Management, Pension Fund Management, Actuarial Science, Analytics and the other needs of the Indian economy.

The Institute has been in the field of Education since 2002, launched new initiatives in 2015 offering a Two year PG Diploma in Management, with a combination of electives offering opportunities to the candidates to occupy managerial positions in the areas of Finance, Financial Services, Insurance, Risk Management, Analytics & Actuarial Science, Marketing and Human Resource management. In addition to the specialized knowledge inputs, the Institute facilitates the development of students per se so that they can excel in the development of Soft Skills in the areas chosen by them.

In a short period, IIRM has made a significant impact in the Financial sector space more so in the Insurance sector with its industry-ready students. This has been possible because of the active involvement of various Insurance Companies, Banks, IT Companies and other entities in the respective Value Chains. The requirement for informed professionals has never been felt more acutely than today and therefore the Institute has endeavored to prepare students to the exacting demands of the entire gamut of the Industry.

IIRM has been ranked quite high in the employability scale of the B-Schools ranking. This was possible due to the constant up-gradation of the curriculum, student-centric approach and constantly evolving pedagogy. At IIRM one finds excellence taking its shape through actions.
