The curriculum, the pedagogic mix, and the commitment to outcome-based education philosophy encourage meaningful, innovative and authentic academic pursuits. The legion of highly qualified faculty, talks by Business thought Leaders, value adding workshops and access to the real-world corporate lab due to its location in the vibrant business hub of India, all combine to ensure that the students are equipped with cutting edge, industry ready and continuously employable knowledge, skills and abilities. Being entrepreneurial, engaged, ethical and socially responsible is in the DNA of the Institute and its graduates.
GIMS also has an academic partnership with IIMBx to offer certificate programme as part of the “IIMBX School Partnership Programme.”
To develop and nurture a culture of excellence in teaching and learning, the Institute follows the educational approach and learning philosophy of Outcome Based Education (OBE). The OBE is student centric in which the entire academic curriculum and instructional efforts are organized around clearly defined outcomes in terms of knowledge, skill, abilities, attitudes and understanding each student is required to demonstrate at the end of the course. The PGDM Programme offered has Learning Outcomes that are derived from its vision and mission, consultation with myriad stakeholders, benchmarking with the best across the world and internal deliberations. Programme Learning Outcomes become the basis for developing Course Learning Outcomes which reflect both in course content and assessment practices. In order to ensure effective learning, the Institute uses a mix of pedagogy such as case studies, simulation, discussions, presentations, role plays, project work, etc. in addition to the traditional lecture method to make the teaching-learning process more experiential and participative. Each student is motivated to take ownership of his or her learning and to reflect on the learning process. Through established mechanisms, the level to which students have learnt is assessed. This is then used for improving the teaching-learning process. The Assurance of Learning is thus a key driver of educational betterment and continuous improvement in the Institute.
International Immersion Programme (IIP)is also a part of full-time course curriculum for students to have an exposure to international business scenario and global best practices in their respective area of specialization. GIMS is the first B-School in India to be internationally accredited by Higher Learning Accreditation Consultant & Training (HLACT).
The objective of the partnership is to train students in the areas of management – data and insights, economics, finance, marketing, people management, operations, and strategy.
