Name a 2016 trend for women that you love and one you think is overrated.
The 70s trend has been a great return this season, considering its varying styles and that it has something for everyone. The pyjama trend is overrated because even if tailored to perfection it would still belong to the bedroom.
Name a 2016 trend for men that you love and one you think is overrated?
Prints are one of the best things that have happened to men’s trends in 2016, while crop looks and man skirts are overrated because they are styles best left to women and you cannot expect men to do justice to them.
How can one translate styles from this season’s runaway into the work wardrobe?
Runway styles do not easily make for everyday work wear. Only inspirations can be taken. The best way to go about it is to follow the clichéd less-is-more mantra. Clean lines, simplistic shapes and basic colour patterns that flatter one’s body should be extracted from the runways to incorporate them into everyday wear.
Is there a garment or accessory you would like to see come back in style?
I love classic styles, cuts and accessory pieces, so it’s a pleasure to see them season after season in an avatar of their own.
Prints, stripes, colours or a particular silhouette… what do you predict is going to be the next big thing?
All of the above have had a perennial presence in the world of fashion. However, there are certain changes we see in each cyclical round. This time maybe we can expect a lot of psychedelic prints, pops of colours, and ill-fitting silhouettes. Also, black and white is always fashionable and cuts through seasons if you respect the silhouette.
