The Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) is a Professional Media Centre established by the Society of Jesus in the year 1969. XIC is an autonomous educational unit of The Bombay St. Xavier’s College Society Trust and a curricula unit of St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Mumbai. XIC being a Jesuit institute, stresses professional excellence and relevance such that social sensitivity and values are kept in focus. The faculty & Management also stresses on Professional ethics and innovative content in the Media produced by our students. Most of our faculty are from the Industry. They bring in practical knowledge and vast experience of their field into the classrooms.
Every year around 300 students enroll in the Post-graduate Diploma courses like Advertising and Marketing Communication (AM),Event Planning & Experiential Marketing (EPEM), Film, Television and Digital Video Production (FT). Journalism and Mass Communication (JR), Public Relations and Corporate Communication (PR).The Alumni are well placed and there is scarcely any area of media activity in India in which they have not made a mark.
Recently we have launched an Online Platform called the Career Advancement Programs (CAP) for Working Professionals. Under CAP, our first Online Post-graduate Diploma programme Strategic Integrated Communication will commence in July 2023. Besides the above diploma programmes, we conduct short term Certificate Courses, like Announcing, Broadcasting, Compering, Dubbing & E-books (ABCDE), Branding, Business Communication & Personality Development, Conversational English, Creative Writing, Computer Graphics for Print and Digital Design, Photography, Public Speaking & Personality Enhancement, Radio Jockey.
