Nurturing and developing managers for futuristic profiles: Asia-Pacific way

Right from its inception the integral part of Asia-Pacific Institute’s philosophy and motto remained- “We Shape Futures” through strong foundation of learning interventions which are industry oriented and holistic in approach. We have not only introduced new programmes like-PGDM in Big Data Analytics and Health Care Management in recent past rather excelling since last 27 years on the pillars of industry orientation, starting from designing of curriculum in close association with industry experts across various sectors and then validated by our industry council members, where most of our members are corporate CEO/CFO/CHRO/CTIOs etc. Further, many of the courses are taught by Adjunct/Visiting Faculty from industry, where in, the students are exposed through experiential learning on latest trends and recent case studies on current issues, challenges and strategies.
Top challenges being faced by 21st century Managers are- Uncertainty about the future, Shaping company culture during post-covid era, Addressing issues linked with VUCA at national and international level, Tracking team productivity, supporting diversity and inclusion in work place, Managing Technology and Digitization, Developing Performing Teams and many more. All the mentioned challenges can be met through right knowledge impartation through inclusion of contemporary topics in course curriculum, latest case studies from industry and hands on working in terms of multiple internships and projects. Asia-Pacific always ensures all the three components of learning process namely- knowing, doing and being with a judicious mix of learning interventions starting from; brining in new programmes, curriculum design in association with industry experts and more focus on experiential learning exposure including deep association of budding managers in social outreach activities.
The latest inclusion in our peadagogy is Business Simulations and Management Games which are interactive business situations and are source of innovation to support actions-oriented learning. A virtual interactive situation is created in business simulations in which students explore the challenging issues faced by the organization in industrial scenario. It is a part of experimental learning approach in which a student explores the situation individually or in a team.It incorporates instructor led guidance for creating different situations to decide the course of actions and measure its outcome.
The journey starts from offering of peaceful and conductive environment through strategically located campus with world class infrastructure in terms of centrally air conditioned campus, ergonomically designed furniture in classrooms fitted with all the multimedia facilities and Wi-Fi connectivity. Similarly, the learning resource centre’s ( central library) design, ambience and furnishing along with collection of 1,00,000 books,100 plus national/international journals including e-resources attracts any learner to remain occupied in studies for longer hours in a highly facilitating and individualized personal space.

The regular interaction starts with our induction programme ‘Initiation’ followed by a series of orientation lectures under ‘Industry Interface Programme’. The industry interaction continues with invited leaders from the industry who share rich experience at various events at the Institute. Summer Internship and final winter projects are done with the involvement of industry experts, along with several live projects, to provide an insight into the real world of business.
Co-curricular and extracurricular activities are a regular feature at Asia-Pacific.
