Sahibzada Farhan’s explosive 73 off 41 balls powered Pakistan to a 32-run win over the USA at Colombo’s Sinhalese Sports Club on Tuesday, helping them maintain their winning momentum in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Speaking during the post-match press conference, Farhan remained focused on the upcoming group-stage fixture against India.

He said, "When you win two matches and are at the top of the table, you feel confident. The upcoming match is not such a big deal; we're not playing against them for the first time. We've played before, and this time we'll play with a different mindset," according to the ICC.

Pakistan’s victory against USA lifted them to the top of Group A with four points from two wins and set up a high-voltage clash against India on February 15.

Reacting to a question on whether the much-anticipated India-Pakistan clash could be one-sided, Farhan said, "We didn't play a one-sided match till the end, and hopefully this time again we'll play a wonderful game."

India Hold Upper Hand in Recent Meetings, But Pakistan Ready to Fight

I think when you make runs, you are confident. I am also very confident, and the way the last two innings have gone, I'm very confident. It's a normal match. We'll play like a normal match. We won't put it in our head that this is an India-Pakistan match; it is a normal match, and we will play it like a normal match.
Farhan said on his form and confidence ahead of the contest.

India have had the upper hand in recent meetings, winning all three of their last encounters against Pakistan, including the Asia Cup final last year.

In the last 10 matches between the sides across formats, India have won eight, with Pakistan’s solitary win coming in 2022 and one match ending in a no-result.

During the Asia Cup last year, Suryakumar Yadav suggested that India-Pakistan is not a rivalry anymore.

Farhan, however, insisted Pakistan would turn up and fight in Colombo. He has scored 155 runs in three matches against India, with two fifties at an average of 51.67, and has tackled Jasprit Bumrah and the rest of the Indian bowling attack effectively in those outings.
