Series D–funded audio platform Pocket FM claims its creator ecosystem has crossed ₹300 crore and is targeting ₹1,000 crore by 2026, as it expands AI-led production tools, its creator base and global distribution. The company has raised about $197 million in funding to date, including a $103 million Series D round announced earlier. According to media reports, its parent firm Pocket Entertainment recorded a 68% rise in revenue to ₹1,768 crore in FY25 from ₹1,052 crore a year earlier.

Pocket FM added that more than 300,000 creators published stories on the platform over the past year, many using AI-assisted tools to produce episodic audio content.

How much Pocket FM creators earn?

Pocket FM said earnings are becoming meaningful for some writers on the platform. The top 10% of monetised creators collectively earned over ₹50 crore in 2025, while the top 1% reportedly made more than ₹50 lakh each annually.

More than 20% of creators now earn above ₹1 lakh per month, according to the company. These success stories are often highlighted by users as examples of how content creators can build income through digital storytelling platforms.

The company says its AI tools help creators plan long story arcs, maintain continuity across episodes and speed up production. Earlier, writers often needed teams for scripting, editing and recording. Pocket FM argues its system now reduces that complexity and lets individuals publish faster.

Prateek Dixit, co-founder for product, technology and AI, said the tools are designed to function like a virtual writers’ room for serialised fiction, helping creators turn ideas into long-form content more efficiently.

Are Pocket FM stories available in Hindi and other languages?

Pocket FM’s catalogue spans several Indian languages, with Pocket FM stories in Hindi continuing to drive a large share of listening. The company reports more than 2.2 billion minutes of listening every month, largely from episodic fiction series.

It also plans to adapt more than 50 Indian creator-led titles for audiences in the United States and Europe in 2026, as part of its push to export Indian stories globally.

What is Pocket FM’s subscription price model?

Pocket FM operates on a freemium model. Users can access some content for free, while premium episodes require payment or subscription access. Pricing varies by market, language and content tier, combining ad-supported listening with paid unlock options.

What does this mean for creators and jobs at Pocket FM?

The company said around 90% of its creators are first-timers, with many exploring storytelling as a full-time or part-time career. Interest in Pocket FM careers, creator partnerships and production roles has also grown as the platform expands its content ecosystem.

According to media reports, the company’s growth phase has also come alongside earlier financial and operational adjustments. Pocket Entertainment had reported a loss of about ₹165 crore in FY24, and reports said it parted ways with nearly 200 contractual writers in July 2024 as it recalibrated costs and content operations.

Rohan Nayak, co-founder and chief executive, said the company sees AI as a way to widen participation in creative work rather than replace it.

“Creativity remains human, and our AI tools are meant to remove barriers so stories can reach audiences at scale,” he said.

Pocket FM’s growth push reflects wider industry interest in digital storytelling platforms, where questions remain about long-term monetisation, funding strategies and whether AI-led creator economies can sustain income levels as competition grows.
