The 49th Kolkata International Book Fair is not just another chapter in the city’s literary legacy, it marks a cultural first. For the first time in its history, the fair has chosen Argentina as its focal theme country. It is also the first instance of a Latin American nation receiving this honour, marking a milestone in Indo-Argentine cultural relations.

Argentina is being represented by Ambassador Mariano A. Caucino, who is leading the official delegation. At the inauguration, he thanked the West Bengal government and the people of Kolkata for their warm welcome.
