Harry Kane is Golden Again: England Captain Set for Second European Golden Shoe

Harry Kane keeps finding new ways to make goals look routine.
The England captain is set to receive the European Golden Shoe after finishing as the continent's leading league scorer in the 2025-26 season, with 36 Bundesliga goals for Bayern Munich.
It will be Kane's second Golden Shoe, putting him in an elite club. Only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have won the award more times.
And the numbers behind Kane's latest triumph are almost absurd. Across club and country, the Bayern striker scored 73 goals in 65 competitive appearances, while also providing eight assists. Only one player has scored more goals in a single season this century: Messi, with 91 in 2011-12.
His finishing helped Bayern win the Bundesliga, Franz Beckenbauer Supercup and DFB Cup. He scored a hat-trick in the DFB Cup final and finished as the competition's leading scorer. He also became Bundesliga top scorer for the third consecutive season and ended the Champions League campaign second in the scoring charts. He has also become the fastest player to reach 100 goals for a club in one of Europe's top five leagues.
The Age of Anger

A raging generation makes the government relent. What's next?
At 33, Kane isn't slowing down. He is joining some serious Bayern company, too. Gerd Müller won the Golden Shoe twice, as did Robert Lewandowski. Kane will now join them as Bayern's third multiple winner. And the club clearly believes there is more to his game than finishing.
Bayern president Herbert Hainer said Kane had taken the role of the striker "to a new level", while sporting board member Max Eberl pointed to his timing, awareness and ability to create space as qualities that separate him from other forwards.
The award comes on the back of a huge year for England, too. Kane also captained England to the World Cup semifinals, their best finish since winning the tournament in 1966, and finished with seven goals. He is now also the most prolific British player in World Cup history. The Golden Shoe will be presented at the FC Bayern Museum on August 19.
For Kane, it is another individual trophy. For European football, it is another reminder that the England captain has quietly built one of the most relentless scoring records of his generation.
