US President Donald Trump launched a scathing critique of Bad Bunny's Super Bowl LX halftime performance, calling it “absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER” and a “slap in the face” to the country.
Posting on his social media platform Truth Social as the Super Bowl aired, Trump criticised both the music and choreography of the show.
He added, “Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World. This Show is just a slap in the face to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day — including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History!”
Trump further criticised the media and the NFL, stating, “There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD — And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule.”
He concluded his post with “Make America Great Again.”

India and European Union amp up their partnership in a world unsettled by Trump
Earlier, as the Super Bowl began, Trump struck a more upbeat tone, posting a separate message wishing viewers well and saying the country was “stronger, bigger, and better than ever before,” according to Variety.
Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican singer and Grammy winner, was announced as the Super Bowl halftime performer last September by the NFL and Apple Music.
The performance was particularly significant as it marked Bad Bunny’s only US concert appearance scheduled for the year, with his Debi Tirar Mas Fotos World Tour bypassing the United States.
The singer had previously told I-D magazine that fears over ICE raids influenced his decision not to tour the country.
During his performance, Bad Bunny conveyed a positive message of unity through football, while also drawing attention for the display of foreign flags.
Longtime Trump ally Laura Loomer criticised the display and sought an apology from the NFL, claiming there was nothing “American” about it and even suggesting someone should call ICE on the performance.
Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski publicly condemned the NFL’s choice, calling Bad Bunny divisive and saying the league should have opted for a more “inclusive” act, according to Variety.
The singer’s stance on ICE and his use of mostly Spanish-language songs also drew criticism, particularly from Trump supporters.
Bad Bunny had previously described the Super Bowl performance as a milestone for Latinos in the US, calling it a collective win that could not be erased.
Despite the controversies, both Bad Bunny and Kid Rock, who performed separately for Turning Point USA, received positive reactions from their respective fans.
Trump later described Bad Bunny’s selection as “absolutely ridiculous,” admitting that he did not know the artist.
Reports indicate that even before the halftime show, the Trump administration had hinted that the president would not be tuning in to watch Bad Bunny at Levi’s Stadium.
