The Aditya Dhar-directed spy thriller -- Dhurandhar: The Revenge -- featuring Ranveer Singh as Hamza Ali alongside R. Madhavan and Sara Arjun, has triggered one of Bollywood's most entertaining meme waves in recent memory, flooding X and Instagram within hours of its release.

Let’s cut to the chase.

The Runtime That Broke the Internet

The film's runtime - clocking in at 3 hours and 55 minutes - became the internet's first target.

Social media users were quick to liken the experience to "sitting through half a workday," while one X user quipped that the runtime was longer than most people's marriages. Creator Sumit Sisodiya went viral on Instagram after posting a reel of himself packing bags, blankets, and a full suitcase ahead of his night show booking. Another creator posted a reel of telling his mother not to wait up - he'd be home for breakfast.

One widely shared post on X today came from a user named Abhishek, who joked that after booking the 11:15 PM show, he would be "returning home with the doodhwale bhaiya (milkman) in the morning" - a nod to the film's near four-hour runtime.

When the Ticket Price Hits Harder Than the Plot Twist

Ticket prices, ranging between ₹2,000 and ₹2,400 for premium recliners, prompted their own wave of reactions. As one post noted, “at least divorce papers don't cost ₹200 for popcorn.”

The Spy Logic Roasts Were Inevitable

Fans latched onto Aditya Dhar's signature "peak detailing" - scenes so dramatically specific they became meme fodder. Akshaye Khanna's portrayal of Rehman Dakait drew particular admiration, with even filmmaker Farah Khan reportedly joining in on the fun, sharing memes of his performance.

The Workplace Anxiety Meme Was Too Real

The workplace anxiety memes hit closest to home. A widely-shared post depicted the nightmare scenario of taking sick leave to watch Dhurandhar 2, only to find your manager seated directly behind you in the cinema.

The Numbers Were Big. The Memes Were Bigger

According to Times of India, advance sales alone crossed 10 lakh tickets in India, with over Rs 100 crore earned worldwide before opening day - yet somehow, the memes have outshone even those numbers. Allu Arjun reportedly called the film "brilliant," though whether he meant the movie or the meme economy it generated remains delightfully unclear.
