1. How many vehicles did Maruti Suzuki deliver on Dhanteras?

Maruti handed over about 30,000 vehicles on November 6, sales executive Partho Banerjee reportedly claimed. He cautioned against comparing that directly with last year’s Dhanteras tally because the occasion fell across two days in 2025.

2. How close was Tata Motors?

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles expected to deliver more than 12,000 vehicles on Dhanteras. That was its single-day estimate. The company also said its retail sales since Ganesh Chaturthi were up more than 20% from the comparable period last year.

3. What does Hyundai’s 16,000 figure cover?

Hyundai Motor India expected to deliver about 16,000 vehicles across November 6 and 7, nearly 14% more than in the corresponding period last year, CEO Tarun Garg said. The company gave a combined figure for the two days.

4. How did Mahindra fare?

Mahindra pointed to how few SUVs it had left at dealerships. Auto and farm sector CEO Rajesh Jejurikar said physical stocks were close to zero across most of its SUV range, with less than eight to nine days’ inventory excluding vehicles in transit. 5. Why does Maruti still have 2.53 lakh pending bookings?

Banerjee identified vehicle availability as Maruti’s biggest challenge. The refreshed Brezza and Baleno had crossed 70,000 and 50,000 sales, respectively, in about two months, he said, and both still had substantial pending orders. The 2.53 lakh figure was the company-wide backlog as of Friday morning.

6. Was the rush bigger than one day?

Maruti said it sold more than four lakh vehicles at retail between Ganesh Chaturthi on September 14 and Dhanteras, compared with 3.46 lakh in the comparable period last year. It expects at least 70,000 deliveries from Dhanteras through Labh Pancham on November 14.

7. Can we rank the carmakers on Dhanteras yet?

Maruti supplied a confirmed single-day tally. Tata supplied a single-day forecast, Hyundai a two-day forecast and Mahindra a stock update. A Dhanteras ranking needs actual deliveries for November 6 from each carmaker.
