Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND) reported ongoing activity by the People's Liberation Army Navy and Air Force around its territorial waters over the past several days.

On Monday, seven PLAN vessels were detected operating near Taiwan as of 6 am local time.

The Ministry did not provide an illustration of flight paths, noting that no PLA aircraft were operating in the area during this timeframe.

In a post on X, the MND said, "7 PLAN vessels operating around #Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. #ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and responded. Illustration of flight path is not provided due to no PLA aircraft operating around Taiwan were detected during this timeframe."

Chinese Naval and Aerial Activity Intensifies Near Taiwan

Earlier on Sunday, the MND again detected seven PLAN vessels in the area and noted the presence of one PRC balloon.

The Ministry stated, "7 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. 1 PRC balloon was detected during this timeframe. #ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and responded."

On Saturday, the Ministry reported six PLA aircraft sorties along with seven naval vessels.

Five of the six sorties entered Taiwan's southwestern and eastern Air Defense Identification Zone.

The MND stated, "6 sorties of PLA aircraft and 7 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. 5 out of 6 sorties entered Taiwan's southwestern and eastern ADIZ. We have monitored the situation and responded."

On Friday, eight PLA aircraft sorties and six PLAN vessels were observed.

Six of the eight sorties crossed the median line into Taiwan's southwestern and eastern ADIZ. The MND said, "8 sorties of PLA aircraft and 6 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. 6 out of 8 sorties crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's southwestern and eastern ADIZ. We have monitored the situation and responded."
