The United States Central Command has briefed President Donald Trump on a plan for potential military action against Iran, even as it continues a naval blockade of Iranian ports.
The 45-minute briefing was attended by the Chairperson of the Joint Chiefs and comes amid reports of a significant transfer of military supplies from the United States to Israel.
According to reports by The Israel Times and The Jerusalem Post, citing the Israeli Defence Ministry, two cargo ships and several aircraft carrying 6,500 tonnes of air and ground munitions, military trucks, Joint Light Tactical Vehicles and additional equipment arrived in Israel this week.
The Israeli ministry’s Defence Procurement Directorate reportedly led the operation in coordination with its International Shipping Division, its mission to the United States and the IDF Planning Directorate.
"Since the launch of Operation Roaring Lion, Israel has received more than 115,600 tonnes of military equipment in 403 airlifts and 10 seal lifts," the ministry said in a statement.
An Axios report said CENTCOM has prepared a new plan for military action against Iran.
Sources told the publication that one option under consideration involves launching a "short and powerful" wave of strikes targeting infrastructure, with the aim of pressuring Tehran into negotiations.

US officials believe that intensified bombardment could push the Islamic Republic to show greater flexibility on the nuclear issue during peace talks.
Meanwhile, Iran has reportedly stepped up efforts to recover missiles and other munitions that were "hidden underground or buried in rubble" following aerial strikes by the United States and Israel, according to NBC News.
Citing a US official and two additional sources familiar with the matter, the report said Tehran is using the current pause in hostilities to "quickly rebuild its drone and missile capabilities".
The recovery operations are focused on extracting weapons concealed or submerged under debris caused by earlier strikes.
US officials assess that these efforts are aimed at ensuring Iran is prepared to "launch attacks across the Middle East" if President Donald Trump decides to resume military operations.
According to NBC News, the excavation of these strategic assets is seen as part of a broader attempt to restore offensive capabilities in anticipation of potential shifts in the regional security environment.
