Viksit Bharat 2047: Vision of 140 Crore Indians to Be a World Power
India set its foot into the Amrit Kaal in 2021 marking the completion of 75 years of independence. From here on till the nation celebrates its 100th year of independence in 2047, India has pledged to relentlessly pursue the Vikist Bharat 2047 Vision. Launched on 11 December 2021, by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the vision represents the collective national spirit and the road map to becoming a completely developed nation and the third largest global economy by year 2047.

The ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ objective is a comprehensive vision plan by the Government of India were it encompasses various aspects of development, including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and good governance. To achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat calls for unwavering dedication, a firm belief in India’s destiny and a profound recognition of the vast potential talent and capabilities of its people, particularly the youth. The soul of Indian version of notion of development is emphasised through PM Narendra Modi’s Sankalp of Panch Pran, with Viksit Bharat being one of them and of utmost importance, which stands on the four pillars – Yuva (Youth), Garib (Poor), Mahila (Women) and Kisan (Framers). He said, “This is the period in the history of India when the country is going to take a quantum leap.” Adding with emphasis, “Today, the aim of your goals, your resolutions should be only one – Developed India.”

To achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047, it is imperative that all industry sectors contribute to the economic growth of the nation. Comprehensive and broad based efforts are needed to realise the Viksit Bharat Vision within the stipulated time. India has the advantage of having the largest young population in the world and channelizing their energies in the right direction goes without saying for accelerating the growth ambitions of the nation. The government is striving to bridge the gaps by launching several schemes in all sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, technology and sustainability/environment, besides welfare schemes, which form the basis of a strong social fabric and a prospering economy. Urging people to participate in the development vision of India, PM Modi, said, “When citizens, in whatever role, start doing their duty, the country moves forward.”
With world-class professionals, increasing trained and skilled workforce, and heavy investments by private stakeholders and FDI inflow supported by ease of doing business, forging meaningful collaborations and partnerships with global companies setting the wheel of development in accelerated motion. Regulatory reforms are being revamped to become more bold and investorfriendly. Infact, the first half of FY 2024-25 sees a 26% increase to $42.1 billion due to the government’s sincere efforts to improve the ease of doing business and ease in FDI norms. Concerted efforts on all fronts backed by the commitment of reaching out to the last man for absorbing him into the developmental process is making a marked difference, which is visible as the journey of Viksit Bharat is progressing. Prime Minister Modi, emphasised, “The roadmap of progress will not be decided by the government alone but by the nation. Viksit Bharat has to be built only through Sabka Prayas.”
