Tusshar Kapoor’s ₹5-Crore Threat: 7 Bollywood Stars Targeted in Cases Linked to Bishnoi Gang

A threatening call demanding ₹5 crore, gunshots near an actor’s car, voice messages warning Bollywood figures to fall in line. The latest incidents involving Tusshar Kapoor and Tiger Shroff have brought an unsettling question back to the film industry: who could be next?
On November 3, Tusshar Kapoor reportedly approached Mumbai Police after receiving an extortion call from a person claiming to be Hari Boxer, an alleged member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The caller reportedly demanded ₹5 crore. But there is a twist: preliminary voice analysis by the Mumbai Crime Branch did not match the caller’s voice with available samples of Boxer. Police suspect someone may have impersonated the gangster to exploit the fear surrounding the recent attack on Tiger Shroff.
The Tusshar episode follows the October 18 firing at Tiger’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area. The latter escaped unhurt, but his driver and a bystander were injured. An audio message attributed to a Bishnoi gang associate claimed responsibility and reportedly warned those in the film industry against working with Salman Khan.

Coping with an explosive Middle East
These are not isolated names in a rapidly growing list of threats and attacks. Here are seven Bollywood actors who have faced intimidation or violence in incidents linked, alleged or attributed to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
1. Salman Khan: The feud that brought the Bishnoi gang into Bollywood’s spotlight
Salman Khan has been at the centre of the gang’s hostility for years. The animosity is traced to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, in which the actor was accused. The Bishnoi community regards the blackbuck as sacred, and Lawrence Bishnoi has publicly expressed anger over the case.
The threats have escalated beyond messages. On April 14, 2024, two motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire outside Salman’s Galaxy Apartments residence in Mumbai. Anmol Bishnoi, Lawrence’s brother, later claimed responsibility for the attack. The actor had also received threat letters and emails, while police investigated an alleged plot to target him at his Panvel farmhouse.
2. Aamir Khan: Threat messages raise fresh concerns in 2026
Aamir Khan was reportedly targeted with threats in July 2026 through social media messages and audio clips from individuals claiming links to the Bishnoi gang. The messages allegedly contained personal accusations and warnings. Police examined the threats, adding another prominent actor to the list of Bollywood figures facing intimidation.
3. Ranveer Singh: An alleged ₹10-crore extortion demand
Ranveer Singh reportedly received a threatening voice message in February 2026 demanding ₹10 crore. Subsequent messages allegedly warned the actor and members of his staff of consequences if the demand was ignored.
The threats were reportedly linked to Hari Boxer. The episode came amid a wider series of warnings directed at people in the film industry. The actor was not physically attacked, but the extortion demand brought his security into focus.
4. Aayush Sharma: Salman Khan’s family connection becomes a talking point
Aayush Sharma, Salman Khan’s brother-in-law, reportedly received a threatening email in February 2026. The sender allegedly demanded ransom in cryptocurrency and claimed links to the Bishnoi gang.
The incident drew attention because the threats appeared to extend beyond Salman to people in his family and professional circle.
5. Tiger Shroff: Gunfire in Juhu turns threats into a physical attack
The October 18 firing incident involving Tiger Shroff marked a significant escalation. Three men were reportedly seen near the actor’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area, with gunfire leaving the actor unharmed but injuring his driver and a bystander.
An audio message attributed to a Bishnoi gang associate claimed responsibility and cited Tiger’s association with Salman. Police are investigating the shooting and the alleged gang connection. The incident has intensified concerns about the safety of actors and their teams, even outside film sets and public appearances.
6. Tusshar Kapoor: A ₹5-crore threat, but police suspect impersonation
The latest name to emerge is Tusshar Kapoor. The actor reportedly received a call from someone identifying himself as Hari Boxer and demanding ₹5 crore. He approached Mumbai Police, and the Anti-Extortion Cell and Crime Branch began examining the recording.
Police are now trying to identify the person behind the call and establish whether it was an extortion attempt by an impersonator.
7. Kapil Sharma: Comedian’s Canada café became a target
Kapil Sharma has also been drawn into the chain of incidents. His café in Surrey, Canada, was fired upon multiple times from July 2025 onwards. Individuals claiming links to the Bishnoi gang reportedly connected the attacks to the comedian inviting Salman to his Netflix show.
Why is the Lawrence Bishnoi gang targeting Bollywood figures?
The recurring thread in several of these threats is Salman. Gang members have reportedly cited the actor’s associations, professional collaborations or public appearances as reasons for targeting others.
But every incident needs to be assessed on its own evidence. A threat made in the gang’s name does not automatically establish that the gang issued it. The Tusshar Kapoor case is a reminder of that distinction, with police suspecting impersonation after the voice mismatch.
For Bollywood, however, the larger concern remains. When threats move from messages to gunfire, the question is no longer just who has been named in a warning. It is whether the people who make films, perform on screen and work behind the scenes can do so without fear.
