On its third Friday, the sequel added over Rs 20 crore nett, taking its 16-day Hindi total past the Rs 900-crore benchmark.

The film is now just Rs 16.5 crore away from entering the Rs 1,000-crore club for Hindi cinema.

Overseas, the film has earned more than Rs 1,500 crore so far, achieving this without any contribution from the Gulf and China.

The Gulf remains a key market for Indian releases but the film did not screen there, while China, an occasional but significant contributor, was also not part of its rollout.

‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ was expected to register the highest third Friday collection for a Hindi film.

While it surpassed Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’, it fell short of beating its predecessor ‘Dhurandhar’, which had collected Rs 23.70 crore on the same day, placing it second.

Headlined by Ranveer Singh, the film has been made on a reported budget of Rs 225 crore.

In 16 days, it has generated returns of Rs 758.5 crore, translating to a profit percentage of 337 per cent, cementing its status as a super-duper hit.

Despite its remarkable run, Aamir Khan’s 'Dangal' continues to hold the record as the highest-grossing Indian film globally with around Rs 2,070 crore gross, a figure largely driven by its China release.

The Dhurandhar saga follows Singh’s spy character Hamza Ali Mazari as he infiltrates a mafia gang in Pakistan and takes on terrorist modules across the border.

The franchise also features R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi.
