Organisations still measure outputs, deliverables, and productivity metrics. But AI is increasingly handling those. What remains unmeasured and increasingly valuable is the capacity to perceive and work with organisational systems as living ecologies.
The new performance question is not "What did you produce?" It is "Can you perceive what the system needs that metrics do not capture?"
This requires a fundamental shift in talent development—from skills training to systemic cultivation. Leaders need the capacity to remain present with complexity, to perceive patterns across scales, to understand how interventions in one domain ripple through entire systems.
