Quickstop explained: Maruti’s new model for fast and accessible car servicing

In a country where time is increasingly scarce and mobility is essential, Maruti Suzuki is reimagining how vehicle servicing fits into everyday life. With its new ‘Quickstop’ initiative, the automaker is bringing maintenance closer to where customers already are: cutting down both time and effort.

Can vehicle servicing finally fit into your daily routine?

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has unveiled its ‘Quickstop’ service format, aimed at redefining convenience in a fast-moving India. Built using modified containers, these compact, prefabricated service units are designed for rapid deployment while requiring minimal space.

Equipped with essential tools for routine maintenance and minor repairs, the units are strategically located in high-vehicle-density zones such as corporate campuses, airport areas, and fleet hubs. The idea is simple: bring servicing to places customers already frequent, instead of forcing them to make separate trips.

Introducing the concept, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “As workdays are getting increasingly busier and personal time is becoming more valuable, we recognise a growing need to make vehicle servicing even more convenient and accessible to customers. This led to the creation of Quickstop, which brings our service facilities to places customers regularly visit, such as offices, airport zones, and fleet hubs. These compact, container-based units are easy to install and require very little time and space for set up, making them ideal for such locations.”

Is this the answer to reducing downtime for car owners and fleets?

The Quickstop format is designed to cater to both individual car owners and commercial fleet operators, addressing one of the biggest pain points, time lost in servicing.

“Office-goers can simply drop off their vehicles at on-site Quickstop facilities and pick them up fully serviced after work,” Takeuchi stated.

For fleet operators, the stakes are even higher. Reduced downtime directly translates into improved earnings and efficiency. As Takeuchi explained, “Our idea is to seamlessly integrate vehicle servicing into a customer's lifestyle, so that they don't have to go out of their way. Cars should serve the customers, not the other way around.”

Can a low-cost, eco-friendly model scale nationwide?

What makes Quickstop particularly compelling is its collaborative and scalable model. Dealer partners are responsible for setting up and operating the facilities, while corporate entities or fleet operators provide the space. This significantly reduces infrastructure costs and enables faster expansion.

At the same time, sustainability remains a key focus. The units incorporate eco-friendly practices such as waterless car washing and battery-powered equipment, helping reduce environmental impact while conserving resources.

Currently in its pilot phase, Maruti Suzuki has already established 10 Quickstop facilities across major cities including Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, along with Bagdogra, Calicut, and Surat.
