Rajat Patidar lit up the Wankhede Stadium with a blistering 20-ball 50 on Sunday, setting the tone for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, while Hardik Pandya attempted to match the impact for Mumbai Indians but fell for 40 off 22 deliveries.
The turning point came when Romario Shepherd completed the catch to dismiss Hardik, who was removed by Jacob Duffy.
What followed drew widespread attention as Krunal Pandya sprinted in and celebrated the wicket with notable aggression, underlining its importance for his side.
While the dismissal itself was significant, Krunal’s animated reaction quickly became a talking point, with fans questioning whether the celebration crossed the line. A video of the moment has since gone viral.
Social media users were quick to react, with some speculating about tension between the Pandya brothers.
“Too much money will destroy families too. This is an example,” wrote one user on X.

And the price of surviving it
Another commented, “Might look tense, but in-game focus can make even close bonds seem distant.”
A third user added, “KP always supported GT when they reached the final for Hardik but Hardik didn't come for the final last year to support his brother.”
Speaking after the match, Hardik Pandya admitted that Mumbai Indians had fallen short in both departments.
“To be very honest, now a lot of things need to be rethink. Definitely, it’s not working. A couple of games we have won the toss, but maybe we need to see what other options we have as a batting group or bowling group,” he added during the post-match interview.
“We still need to bat and bowl well. If you do that, irrespective of the toss, we should be fine. We are talking about how to get some momentum in the powerplay. We are trying to catch up in both departments. We will see what we can do in the next game," Pandya concluded.
Mumbai Indians will next face Punjab Kings on April 16 as they look to return to winning ways.
