Sree Charani has become the first Indian bowler to surpass the 800-point barrier in the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings, adding an individual milestone to India’s Asia Cup triumph. The left-arm spinner extended her lead at No. 1 after taking four wickets in the final against Sri Lanka, according to the ICC’s latest rankings update.

Charani finished the tournament with 12 wickets, helping India seal a 72-run victory in the title decider at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India’s eighth Asia Cup crown was followed by rankings gains for several of the players behind that success.

Crossing 800 rating points places Charani among an exceptionally small group in women’s T20I bowling. The ICC identified Australia’s Megan Schutt, whose career-best rating is 806, and England’s Sophie Ecclestone among the other bowlers to have reached that level.

Charani’s nearest challenger is now a teammate. Deepti Sharma jumped four places to second after collecting 14 wickets at the Asia Cup, including figures of 3/19 in the final.

Together, Charani and Deepti claimed seven wickets in the title decider. Their performances have translated into an Indian one-two at the top of the women’s T20I bowling rankings.

Shafali Verma’s tournament-leading 236 runs, scored at an average of 47.20, lifted her one place to sixth in the batting rankings. She also advanced five positions to 15th among T20I all-rounders.

Australia’s Beth Mooney and Georgia Voll retained the top two batting positions.

Further down the list, Bangladesh’s Nigar Sultana moved up one place and Sri Lanka’s Imesha Dulani climbed two to share 20th position. Sharmin Akhter Supta rose three places to joint 40th, while Pakistan’s Shawaal Zulfiqar gained four to reach 45th.

Bangladesh’s attack benefited from its Asia Cup performances, too. Marufa Akter climbed three places to joint 15th, while Rabeya Khan advanced three to 18th. Sultana Khatun moved up five positions to 32nd and Fahima Khatun rose six to 49th, completing a broader reshuffle after the tournament.
