The 19th edition of the IPL is already delivering record-breaking performances. With ten matches played by most teams, the Orange Cap and Purple Cap races are wide open, the century count has hit nine, and individual records are falling at a remarkable pace. Here’s where every key contest stands.
KL Rahul of Delhi Capitals leads the IPL 2026 run-scoring charts with 445 runs from 10 matches. His unbeaten 152 is not only the highest score of this IPL season but reportedly the highest individual score by an Indian batter in IPL history.
Abhishek Sharma of SRH sits just five runs behind with 440, while Heinrich Klaasen, also of SRH, has accumulated 425. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi of Rajasthan Royals (404) and Sanju Samson of CSK (402) round out the top five, making this one of the tightest Orange Cap races in recent IPL memory.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi hit the fastest century of the IPL 2026 season, reaching three figures off just 36 balls against SRH. Sooryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma have both recorded 15-ball half-centuries, the joint-fastest fifties of the season.

Brain drain from AAP leaves Arvind Kejriwal politically isolated
RCB's Bhuvneshwar Kumar leads the wicket-taking charts with 17 scalps from just 9 matches. Bhuvneshwar is the only bowler in IPL history to win the Purple Cap in consecutive seasons, achieving the feat with SRH in 2016 and 2017. A third Purple Cap would place him entirely in a league of his own.
CSK's Anshul Kamboj matches him on 17 wickets but from 10 matches, making Bhuvneshwar's economy the deciding factor for the Purple Cap at this stage.
Kagiso Rabada of Gujarat Titans has 16 wickets from 10 matches, with Jofra Archer (RR) and Eshan Malinga (SRH) both on 15. The best bowling figures of IPL 2026 belong to LSG's Mohsin Khan, who claimed 5/23 against KKR.
Josh Hazlewood (4/12) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/5) bowled DC out for 75 in one match, reducing them to 13/6 in the powerplay, the lowest powerplay score in IPL history in a full game. SRH debutant Praful Hinge also became the first bowler in IPL history to claim three wickets in the opening over of an innings.
With half the season still to play, the IPL 2026 individual honours remain fiercely contested. KL Rahul's batting dominance and Bhuvneshwar Kumar's relentless wicket-taking are the defining storylines, but with margins this tight across both leaderboards, the caps could change hands with any single performance.
