
India's wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan completed 1,000 runs in ODIs during the second match against Afghanistan, becoming the fourth-fastest from Men in Blue to reach the milestone.
He achieved this while scoring 125 off 79 balls, studded with 14 fours and seven sixes, at a strike rate of over 158.
This has been Kishan's return series in ODIs. After a quickfire 34 in the first ODI, he made it count by reaching his second ODI century.
In 29 matches and 26 innings, Ishan has made 1,092 runs at an average of 45.50 and a strike rate of over 107, with two centuries, seven fifties and a best score of 210*.
He is the fourth-fastest to the 1,000-run mark for India in terms of innings, with Shubman Gill (19 innings) being the fastest. Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan (25 innings) occupy the second spot, while Navjyot Singh Sidhu and Shreyas Iyer (25 innings) are third.
Kishan also reached the milestone in 966 balls, the fifth fastest by an Indian, with all-rounder Hardik Pandya (857 balls) the quickest.

In the same match, batting legend Rohit Sharma completed 14,000 runs in List A cricket, becoming only the fifth Indian to do so.
The 'Hitman' looked in good touch, scoring 48 off 39 balls with six fours and two sixes at a strike rate of over 123. Rohit now has 14,038 runs in List A cricket, which comprises one-day matches across all levels, international and domestic, across 356 matches with 37 centuries.
The top run-getter for India in List A remains Sachin Tendulkar, with 21,999 runs in 551 matches and 60 centuries, followed by Virat Kohli (16,447 runs), Sourav Ganguly (15,622 runs) and Rahul Dravid (15,271 runs).
Afghanistan won the toss and opted to field first. Centuries from skipper Gill (154 off 110 balls, with 22 fours and two sixes) and Ishan (125 off 79 balls, with 14 fours and seven sixes) helped India reach 402 all out in 49.5 overs.
Nangeyaliya Kharoti (4/76) and Rashid Khan (3/48) were the top wicket-takers for Afghanistan.
Afghanistan now need to chase 403 to level the series.
