The dispensing machines, being developed by a Canadian firm, PharmaTrust, would make the process of procuring medicines simple. The user inserts his prescription into the machine, allowing him to access a live video link to a registered pharmacist, who will check the prescription and allow the machine to dispense the drugs. While pharmacist associations are crying hoarse about how these machines could never substitute for the services of local chemists, consumers don’t seem too worried.
