BJP Counters Opposition Rally With Marches; Amit Shah in Hyderabad, Nitin Nabin Targets Rahul

The BJP took its campaign against the Opposition to Hyderabad and Bhagalpur on Monday, a day after Opposition parties gathered at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan to press their allegations over electoral integrity.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah offered prayers at the Sri Bhagya Laxmi Mata temple near Charminar ahead of a scheduled padyatra in Hyderabad. In Bihar, BJP national president Nitin Nabin led a march in Bhagalpur and accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav of disrespecting the state’s electoral verdict.
Both programmes were organised under the BJP’s nationwide “Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao”, or “Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy”, campaign to counter the Opposition’s accusations against the party and constitutional institutions.

Telangana BJP chief spokesperson NV Subhash said the campaign was intended to challenge what the party described as false propaganda by the INDIA bloc.
“This is a counter-narrative to the INDIA bloc’s campaign,” Subhash told ANI. Defending the Election Commission, he said the institution had been established long before the BJP came to power.
BJP leader Guduru Narayana Reddy said the Hyderabad march would also register the party’s protest against the Congress government in Telangana and its recent political agitations.
Nabin accuses Rahul, Tejashwi of insulting voters
In Bhagalpur, Nabin attacked the Opposition’s criticism of the electoral process, arguing that challenges to Bihar’s verdict amounted to an insult to its voters.
“The mandate they gave, the democratic verdict they delivered, is currently being insulted by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi,” he said.
Referring to Sunday’s Opposition gathering in Delhi, Nabin accused its leaders of spreading falsehoods while the BJP and its allies were marching to defend democracy.
He said the time had come to “decisively defeat” Opposition leaders and warned the Congress of further electoral setbacks if it failed to learn from previous losses.
Electoral roll revision becomes flashpoint
Nabin also targeted the Congress and RJD over their objections to the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar.
He claimed a 60-day window had been available to submit claims and objections over additions to and deletions from voter lists. He alleged that the two parties had failed to use the prescribed process and were raising accusations after its completion.
Defending the BJP’s record, Nabin said its victories in 2019 and 2024 reflected public support for its development, welfare and national security agenda.
“Our success in 2019, and again in 2024, was not brought about by any individual like Gyanesh Kumar; it was the people of this nation who granted us victory,” he said.
