Destiny Leads to Law

It was an unfortunate incident when the young Prakash faced a traumatic experience on a trip for belonging to Bihar. After being doubted for the articles which he owned and asked to prove that it belongs to him, the ugly episode became a defining moment that changed the course of his life. In Pulkit’s words, “It was a brush with the harsh reality of life where disparity went beyond religion. It set me thinking on how such injustice could be perpetrated by a democratic society and how equal rights could be ensured, irrespective, something which I discussed with my father. It led to my introduction to the Constitution of India authored by D.D. Basu, which I purchased at a cost of Rs 145. It served as an inspiration to take up law as a career with passionate zeal and since then I have never looked back.” Here is a man who turned trials and turbulences of existing in a multi-culturally diverse society riddled with challenges into an opportunity for seeking the self, the meaning of life and standing up to ensure justice for the downtrodden. His work with the children affected by naxals in the Chhattisgarh region stands out as lesson in experience.

This purposeful profession of my choice gives me the strength day-after-day in what I do. The joy derived from reinstating somebody’s self-respect, and giving them a life of dignity and hope defies explanation and is a divine feeling.” He shares that he derives inspiration from nature, which is mighty, expansive, yet, selfless and serves as the best teacher. Pulkit’s resolute commitment to environmental conservation and policy advocacy is underscored by the Kamla Chowdhry Fellowship, as recipient. The other big influencer in shaping the character and persona of Pulkit are his parents whose perseverance against all odds have been valuable lessons for a lifetime. The determined lawyer is aiming to create a strong team of 100 professionals in the next couple of years, who will be instrumental in realising a shared dream and goal for safeguarding and ensuring a more just, safe and secure society.

The young Pulkit has set his goals high and is working diligently to appear and clear the upcoming Bar Examination of Singapore (Foreign Practitioner Examination (FPE) with the aim to strike roots of Niti Bodh globally in Singapore and later in other cities abroad. He has already made his impact as Associate Membership at the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution, Malaysia. The long and arduous path ahead of challenges raises the adrenalin of the young lawyer Pulkit Prakash and his team at Niti Bodh to live the experience so that justice prevails because truth wins.
