A high level delegation led by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand Shri Raghubar Das along with Chief Secretary Smt. Rajbala Verma, Principal Secretary to CM Shri Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, IT & e-Governance & Secretary to CM Shri Sunil Kumar Barnwal today attended a exclusive session organised by Oracle on the occasion of Oracle Openworld 2017 in New Delhi.
Safra A Catz, CEO, Oracle Corporation Met Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand to discuss and explore the areas where Oracle and Government of Jharkhand can collaborate.
The meeting was followed by Signing of MOU between Oracle India Pvt. Ltd., Shri Shailender Kumar, RMD, Oracle India and Sri Sunil Kr Barnwal, Government of Jharkhand.
During discussion with CEO of oracle Corporation, Hon’ble Chief Minister emphasized on his commitment for usage of IT for delivering a transparent and responsible governance in the State and stated that “We are ramping up IT Infrastructure in the state and we have initiated programs in this direction. We have recently started State Data Centre which is very effective and helpful in providing effective and responsible governance”
He also added that “We are undertaking continued efforts to bridge the gap between Government and its citizen through increasing usage of IT. We have targeted to make all the Government department paperless by end of this year. We are now heading towards Mobile Governance, through this we are aiming to provide various information’s and services on time to its citizen. The Government of Jharkhand has distributed 100,000 mobile phones to women entrepreneurs.”

Oracle is looking forward to working with Jharkhand’s administration to support entrepreneurship, create opportunity, and improve services for its citizens, as we have done with governments around the world.” Hon’ble CM Stated that his vision is that every single citizen of his state, whether he belongs to an urban area or the remotest village should be digitally connected.
The key areas of collaboration between Oracle and Government of Jharkhand discussed were
• Usage of cloud services to support the state in various administrative functioning like database management, common citizen services centre. Chief Minister encouraged Oracle to explore the opportunity of building cloud data centre in Jharkhand.
• To utilize the experience and expertise of oracle in the areas of ICT infrastructure, real estate, health, education, housing for Ranchi smart city project.
• Oracle’s support providing a transparent and responsible governance through increased use if IT enabled services.
• Oracle to explore the option of opening a State of Art Software development Centre in Jharkhand.
Hon’ble CM assured Oracle for providing all necessary help, co-operation and support for their business and operations in Jharkhand.
