Millie Bobby Brown is back as the beloved teen detective, this time trading the foggy streets of London for the sun-drenched backdrop of Malta.
Netflix dropped the trailer for ‘Enola Holmes 3’ on Thursday, promising what the streaming giant describes as her "most tangled and treacherous" case to date, one where her professional world and personal life become impossible to separate.
The trailer opens with Lord Tewkesbury, played by Louis Partridge, getting down on one knee, and Enola saying yes.
The engagement, however, is swiftly overshadowed by a crisis of the gravest kind; her brother Sherlock Holmes, portrayed by Henry Cavill, has been kidnapped. Wedding plans and detective work collide in what the film sets up as a genuinely emotional chapter for the character.
In one of the pre-release posters of the series, Tewkesbury is seen seated outside a wedding venue, a bouquet of flowers lying discarded beside him, a hint at the romantic turbulence ahead.

Partridge himself had previously suggested that the couple "go through a bit of a rough patch" in the film. Seated in the back row of the same image are Sherlock Holmes, Eudoria Holmes played by Helena Bonham Carter, and Dr Watson portrayed by Himesh Patel.
Among the trailer's more striking moments is a sequence in which Enola, still dressed in her wedding gown, is seen running with a shotgun in hand, duty once again overtaking personal milestones.
The film signals a more mature Enola, one grappling not just with danger, but with questions about love and the direction of her own future.
Brown spoke to Netflix Tudum about where her character stands in this chapter, and said, "What I love about this chapter is that Enola is stepping into a version of herself that feels much more defined but still evolving. She's built something for herself, which is amazing, but she's also questioning what she wants next."
Netflix accompanied the trailer with a post on X that read, "It will take a Holmes, to save a Holmes. Millie Bobby Brown, Louis Partridge, Henry Cavill, and Helena Bonham Carter star in Enola Holmes 3. Directed by Philip Barantini. Premiering July 1."
Behind the camera, Philip Barantini steps in as director, taking the reins from Harry Bradbeer who helmed the first two films.
Jack Thorne returns to write the screenplay, once again drawing from Nancy Springer's book series. The cast also includes Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Moriarty and Himesh Patel as Dr John Watson. ‘Enola Holmes 3’ premieres on Netflix on July 1.
