Pop icon Madonna made a dramatic appearance at the Met Gala 2026, turning heads with a surreal, "witchy" ensemble on the red carpet, according to Billboard.
The "Queen of Pop" arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan wearing a striking black outfit, complete with a theatrical headpiece resembling a storm-tossed ship at sea.
She was accompanied by four women holding the flowing grey veil trains, adding to the theatrical effect.
The custom outfit was designed by Anthony Vaccarello, it was a custom Yves Saint Laurent look inspired by British-Mexican painter Leonora Carrington's painting 'The Temptation of St. Anthony'.
The look aligned with this year's Met Gala theme, "Fashion Is Art," tied to the museum's "Costume Art" exhibition, according to Billboard.
Meanwhile, Madonna is preparing for her return to music with her upcoming project Confessions II, set to release on July 3.

She recently teased the album with tracks including I Feel So Free and Bring Your Love, a duet with Sabrina Carpenter.
Carpenter, who also attended the gala, wore a gown crafted from film strips of the 1954 movie 'Sabrina', starring Humphrey Bogart and Audrey Hepburn, which she described as "one of my favorite films of all time," according to Billboard.
In another highlight of the evening, singer Beyonce, one of the event's co-chairs, made a family appearance alongside her daughter Blue Ivy and husband Jay-Z, according to Billboard.
Madonna's bold and theatrical ensemble once again underscored her reputation for delivering memorable fashion moments at the Met Gala.
Grammy Award-winning singer Bad Bunny went through the time machine for the Met Gala 2026.
The 32-year-old artist arrived at the event as an old man, complete with a walking cane, white hair and hyper-realistic face and hand make-up, reported Variety.
According to the outlet, the look is an apparent nod to the Met's 'Costume Art' theme, which explores the interpretation and function of fashion on ageing, pregnant and differently abled bodies.
Bad Bunny was not the only star to undergo a complete transformation for the Met Gala.
Model and TV host Heidi Klum transformed herself into a marble statue, inspired by classical works such as the "Veiled Christ" by Giuseppe Sammartino and the "Veiled Vestal" by Raffaele Monti, reported Variety.
It was a literal interpretation of this year's Met Gala theme, "Fashion is Art," crafted by designer Mike Marino.
Other stars making splashes with their looks include Emma Chamberlain, SZA, Serena Williams, Doechii, Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, Sarah Paulson and Anne Hathaway.
