Speaking about the digital release, Ajay Bhalwankar, Chief Content Officer at Sony Pictures Networks India, said the company was pleased to bring a story that had connected with audiences to homes across the country and beyond. He described the film's journey as an example of storytelling that could reach viewers beyond expectations.

What is Hanuman Ansh about?

Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh draws inspiration from the spiritual journey of Neem Karoli Baba, widely known among his followers as Maharaj Ji. The film follows Lakshminarayan, a young boy whose search for God gradually becomes a journey of faith, self-discovery and devotion.

As he travels in search of answers, Lakshminarayan encounters questions about life, death, suffering and the meaning of existence. His experiences eventually lead him towards the spiritual path associated with Neem Karoli Baba, whose teachings continue to draw devotees in India and overseas.

Rather than simply presenting a biographical account, the film explores values such as compassion, belief and service to others. Its makers have described it as a story rooted in faith and timeless human values.

Who stars in Hanuman Ansh?

Shobhinaw Satyaa plays the lead role, with Vihaan Shedge also featuring in the film. The supporting cast includes Chandan K Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, Gulshan Pandey and Bhagvandas Patel.

The film's theatrical success has brought wider attention to its cast and the story of Neem Karoli Baba, particularly as it prepares for a digital release.

How much did Hanuman Ansh earn at the box office?

The film's theatrical performance has been one of its biggest talking points. According to figures reported by Hindustan Times, citing industry tracker Sacnilk, Hanuman Ansh collected approximately Rs 342.44 crore net in India, while its worldwide gross stood at Rs 452.86 crore.

The figures are particularly striking because the film was reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 2 crore. It also had a modest beginning at the box office before positive word of mouth helped its collections gather pace. The film went on to cross the Rs 300-crore mark domestically and remained in cinemas for more than 80 days.

Hanuman Ansh OTT release comes amid a rights-related disagreement

The digital announcement has also arrived amid reports of disagreements over the film's rights and publicity arrangements. India Today reported that a statement issued through Swambhu Media Network identified Namrata G Singh and Vishal Chaturvedi as authorised representatives for publicity and marketing, while clarifying that the film's four producers jointly hold its rights and that key decisions require their approval.

With its Sony LIV premiere now confirmed, the film is set to move from its extended cinema run to streaming. For viewers interested in devotional cinema and stories inspired by spiritual figures, November 27 is the date to mark.
