Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned the United States and Israel against further escalation on Monday, declaring that Tehran had “unfinished jobs too” after US President Donald Trump threatened renewed action against Iran while endorsing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for re-election.

In a post on X, Araghchi challenged Trump’s assertion that Washington and its allies would “soon finish the job” unless Iran changed course.

“Last time you wanted to ‘finish the job’, Iran emerged even stronger. Want to try your luck again? Be our guest. But be careful; we have unfinished jobs too,” Araghchi wrote.

He also accused Netanyahu of drawing the United States towards another conflict for his own political survival.

“Netanyahu is driving America into another war to stay out of jail, whatever the consequences for Israel—let alone POTUS,” he said.

TRUMP BACKS NETANYAHU, THREATENS IRAN

The exchange followed Trump’s endorsement of Netanyahu on Truth Social, where he praised the Israeli leader as a “Great Warrior Prime Minister” and an even greater “Partner for Peace”, particularly in confronting Iran.

Trump claimed Tehran had been weakened militarily and financially but remained a threat to both countries. He warned that the United States and its allies would “soon finish the job” unless Iran swiftly altered its course.

The US president also suggested that an Israeli election victory for the “wrong Leader” could leave Washington confronting Tehran alone.

Describing Netanyahu as “Strong, Brave, and Brilliant”, Trump praised his resilience against domestic and international opposition and argued that Israel needed his leadership.

NETANYAHU THANKS TRUMP

Netanyahu welcomed what he called Trump’s “extraordinary endorsement” and presented the upcoming election as a consequential choice for efforts to eliminate what he described as Iran’s nuclear threat.

In a video posted on X, the Israeli prime minister praised Trump’s leadership and argued that their partnership was essential to confronting Tehran and stabilising global energy markets.

“America has been fortunate to have a leader of conviction, of clarity, of courage, who faces down this threat to America and to Israel,” Netanyahu said.

He accused Iran’s leadership of seeking nuclear weapons and the means to strike American cities, while praising Trump’s focus on removing that threat for present and future generations.

Trump subsequently shared Netanyahu’s video on Truth Social.
