Three civilians were reportedly killed and two others critically injured in separate drone strikes in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, according to local sources cited by The Balochistan Post.

The first incident took place in the Anzargi area of Ziarat district, where a drone strike reportedly killed a shepherd and seriously injured two other people. Residents said the shepherd’s body remained in the mountainous area, with local authorities yet to begin efforts to retrieve it.

In a separate incident in the Dashtuk border area of Kech district, a Pakistani military drone reportedly struck a vehicle, killing two civilians identified by local sources as Shah Jan and Samad Jan.

The latest reports add to allegations of civilian casualties linked to drone and quadcopter operations across Balochistan, raising concerns about the safety of residents in areas affected by military activity.

PREVIOUS INCIDENTS

Earlier this month, two men were reportedly seriously injured in a suspected drone strike in the Khadkocha area of Mastung district. In a separate incident in Panjgur, an explosion killed two children and injured three others.

Local sources alleged that explosives attached to a Pakistani military quadcopter caused the blast, according to The Balochistan Post.

On September 24, a reported strike in Balicha, in Kech district, killed four young men and injured two others. Their families maintained that the men had travelled to the area for a picnic and disputed the authorities’ portrayal of them as suspected militants, the publication reported.

Balochistan has also faced longstanding allegations of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings.

Human rights organisations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, have raised concerns about missing activists, students and political workers allegedly taken by security agencies without due legal process.
