Nvidia held its annual conference GTC from March 16 to 19, and given how important its GPUs are for the global AI ecosystem, the world listened keenly to what it had to say and one number stood out. Jensen Huang, Nvidia’s founder and CEO, said that they expected to make $1 trillion in revenue from its GPUs by 2027, double the estimate he had given last year. This is the GDP of midsize countries like Poland or Turkey.

The revenue will be driven by its increasingly better iterations of GPUs. Blackwell is the latest one in the market launched in 2024. Jensen announced that its successor, Vera Rubin, which is already under production, will start to be shipped later this year.GTC also revealed how much Nvidia products were becoming integrated into self-driving cars. The company has a platform called DRIVE, which provides a suite of AI technologies to make cars autonomous. It has formed partnerships with BYD, Hyundai, Kia, and Nissan, as well as with Uber for its robotaxis. Nvidia has also improved the technology of its physical AI platform underpinning robotics. The company said in a release, “Beyond automakers, NVIDIA is working with industrial software giants and robotics leaders such as ABB, Universal Robots and KUKA tointegrate its physical AI models and simulation tools, enablingdeployment of smarter robots on manufacturing lines.”
