After nearly a decade at Liverpool FC, Mohamed Salah is set to part ways with the club at the end of the 2025–26 season. The departure comes through a mutual contract termination, even though his deal was originally set to run until 2027.
Salah’s exit marks the end of a highly successful nine-year stint, during which he established himself as one of the club’s greatest-ever players.
The big question now is where Salah will go next—and the answer may arrive very soon.
Muhammad Murad, media coordinator for the Egypt national team, indicated that the wait is almost over. He said, “There are news stories being written about him having offers from Italy and France and other big teams in the world - this is, of course, true, he is a big star and would be a big addition to any team. Whichever team Salah picks, we will support him - he [also has offers from Saudi... I think in a few days he will announce his next destination.”
Speculation around Salah’s future has been intense. Reports suggest interest from clubs in Italy, France, and the Saudi Pro League, reflecting his global appeal and continued elite performance level.
However, uncertainty remains. His agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, has not confirmed any destination, stating that “no one knows” where Salah will play next.
Salah’s farewell to Liverpool may not go entirely as planned due to injury concerns. He suffered a hamstring tear during a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on April 25.

According to Egypt team director Ibrahim Hassan, the injury could require around four weeks of treatment. This raises the possibility that Salah might miss Liverpool’s final four matches of the season, although the club has not officially confirmed the extent of the setback.
Salah’s impact at Liverpool has been historic. Since joining from AS Roma in 2017, he has scored 255 goals in 435 appearances, making him the club’s third-highest all-time goalscorer.
His trophy haul includes two Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, two League Cups, and an FA Community Shield.
Individually, Salah has won the Premier League Golden Boot four times, underlining his consistency and dominance as a forward.
With Liverpool currently sitting fourth in the league table with 58 points, the focus remains on finishing the season strongly. At the same time, attention is shifting toward Salah’s next move and how the club will fill the void left by his departure.
For now, all eyes are on Salah’s expected announcement in the coming days, which will mark the beginning of a new chapter in his career.
