BHAGAT AND RAMDASS ASSURED OF MEDAL

In badminton, Pramod Bhagat and Manisha Ramdass advanced to the mixed doubles SL3–SU5 semifinals, assuring India of another medal.

The Indian pair defeated Thailand’s Chanida Srinavakul and Siripong Teamarrom 21–15, 21–14 in a quarterfinal lasting 25 minutes.

SIX ARCHERS REACH QUARTERFINALS

India also made progress in archery, with six athletes reaching the quarterfinals of their individual events.

Harvinder Singh advanced in men’s recurve and Bhawna progressed in women’s recurve. In compound archery, Sheetal Devi, Payal Nag, Toman Kumar and Shyam Sunder Swami all secured places in the last eight.

There were setbacks in recurve, however. Pooja lost 2–6 to Malaysia’s Chi Hui Loh in the round of 16, while Vijay Sundi was eliminated in a shoot-off against an opponent from Chinese Taipei.

In athletics, Rakeshbhai Bhatt finished without a valid mark in the men’s long jump T37/T38 event. He registered fouls on his first two attempts and did not take his remaining four jumps.
