Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday issued a strong statement in response to the deadly terrorist ambush in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22. Vowing swift and decisive action, Shah declared: “Chun chun ke jawab diya jayega” — which loosely translates to “We will retaliate for each and every loss.”
“With a heavy heart, I paid my last respects to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. Bharat will not bow to terror. The perpetrators of this heinous act will not be spared,” Shah said in his first public response to the incident.
Reaffirming the government’s hardline stance, Shah stated, “Whoever is responsible for this dastardly attack in Pahalgam, we will ensure that none are spared.” He made the remarks during an event in the national capital.
The Home Minister underscored the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. “If anyone thinks they can escape after carrying out such a cowardly act, they are mistaken. This is Narendra Modi’s government — we will not let them go unpunished,” he asserted.
Shah emphasised that the fight against terrorism would continue until the threat is completely eradicated. “Do not think you have triumphed by killing 26 innocent people. Every single one of you will be held accountable,” he declared, directly addressing the terrorists.
